#04 – Ana Pantoja und Viviana Gonzàlez

Diese Zusammenarbeit ist zwischen den Künstlerinnen Ana Pantoja und Viviana González entstanden. Sie leben an zwei unterschiedlichen Orten: Baden (Schweiz) und Ipiales (Kolumbien). Aus der Perspektive der beiden Orte und Künstlerinnen werden Eindrücke, Erinnerungen und ihre eigene Migrationserfahrung verarbeitet.

Viviana González erklärt: „Dieses Projekt kann als ein Zweihand-Tagebuch verstanden werden. Anita und ich trafen uns in Bogotá (Kolumbien). Anita verliess Bogotá und ich zwei Jahre später auch. Die Migration bedeutete für uns beide eine Auseinandersetzung mit einer neuen Landschaft und Kultur, die uns auch befremdete. Für Anita war es eine Rückkehr in die einst vertraute Landschaft ihrer Kindheit, für mich Migration zu einem Ort, der sich radikal von meiner Heimatstadt unterschied. Die Wahl-Landschaft von Anita liegt in Ipiales (Kolumbien), in der südlichsten Stadt Kolumbiens an der Grenze zu Ecuador. Ich lebe in Baden (Schweiz) und in einer Umgebung, die ich versuche zu verstehen und zu bewohnen. Meine eigene Betrachtungsweise ist stark von meinem Migrantenstatus gefärbt. Seit einiger Zeit Anita und ich unterhalten uns mit Bildern aus der Landschaft, die uns umgibt.“

Durch den Austausch von Fotos und Zeichnungen ist zwischen ihnen eine Sprache entstanden, in der sich Bilder der unterschiedlichen Orte vermischen, zusammenfügen, ergänzen und kontrastieren zugleich. Jeden Freitagmorgen wird Viviana González an der rechten Wand der Ausstellung Zeichnungen hinzufügen, die aus diesem laufenden Gespräch weiterhin entstehen.

Imaginary Cartographies, 2019-ongoing, drawings and digital photography.

This collaboration was created between artists Ana Pantoja and Viviana González. They live in two different places: Baden (Switzerland) and Ipiales (Colombia). From the perspective of both places and artists, impressions, memories and their own migration experience are processed.

Viviana González explains:"This project can be understood as a two-handed diary.Anita and I met in Bogotá (Colombia).Anita left Bogotá and so did I two years later. Migration meant for both of us an exposure to a new landscape and culture that also alienated us. For Anita it was a return to the once familiar landscape of her childhood, for me migration to a place radically different from my hometown. Anita's elective landscape is in Ipiales (Colombia), in the southernmost city of Colombia on the border with Ecuador. I live in Baden (Switzerland) and in an environment that I try to understand and inhabit. My own perspective is strongly coloured by my migrant status. For some time Anita and I have been entertaining ourselves with images from the landscape that surrounds us."

Through the exchange of photos and drawings, a language has emerged between them in which images of the different places mix, merge, complement and contrast at the same time. Every Friday morning on the right wall of the exhibition, Viviana González will add drawings that continue to emerge from this ongoing conversation.

Cartographies imaginaires, 2019-continuant, dessins et photographie numérique.

Cette collaboration est née entre les artistes Ana Pantoja et Viviana González. Elles vivent dans deux endroits différents : Baden (Suisse) et Ipiales (Colombie). Des impressions, des souvenirs et leur propre expérience de la migration sont traités dans la perspective des deux lieux et des deux artistes.

Viviana González explique :"Ce projet peut être compris comme un journal intime à deux mains. Anita et moi nous sommes rencontrées àBogotá (Colombie). Anita a quitté Bogotá et moi aussi deux ans plus tard. La migration signifiait pour nous deux une confrontation avec un nouveau paysage et une nouvelle culture, qui nous déconcertait également.Pour Anita, il s'agissait d'un retour dans le paysage autrefois familier de son enfance, pour moi d'une migration vers un lieu radicalement différent de ma ville natale. Le paysage d'élection d'Anita se trouve à Ipiales(Colombie), dans la ville la plus au sud de la Colombie, à la frontière avec l'Équateur. Je vis à Baden (Suisse) et dans un environnement que j'essaie de comprendre et d'habiter. Mon propre regard est fortement teinté par mon statut de migrant. Depuis quelque temps, Anita et moi nous entretenons avec des images du paysage qui nous entoure".

Par l'échange de photos et de dessins, un langage s'est créé entre elles, dans lequel les images des différents lieux se mélangent, s'assemblent, se complètent et contrastent à la fois. Chaque vendredi matin, Viviana González ajoutera sur le mur droit de l'exposition des dessins qui continueront à naître de cette conversation encours.
