About the event
At the upcoming FATrendezvous, we are delighted to welcome Nadja Baldini, curator, art mediator and head of "Kulturagent.innen für kreative Schulen". The central question of the event is: Can art education be seen as a form of care work?
Art education is more than simply passing on knowledge about art. It helps people of different ages to understand, enjoy and experience art as meaningful. Cultural mediators play an important role in this. They facilitate access, create connections and promote critical thinking. Most of this work is done by women. Why is this the case? What specific skills and perspectives do women bring to this role?
Nadja Baldini will share her many years of experience as an art and cultural mediator and explain how she creates the connection between art and the public. She will also give an insight into the work of "Kulturagent.innen Schweiz" and take a closer look at the special role of cultural agents in schools. Her work makes it clear that art education is both an educational mission and an integral part of cultural participation and social interaction.
