About the event
Viviana González Méndez (*1982) is a Colombian visual artist who studied fine arts and art theory in Colombia and Argentina. Her artistic and investigative work focuses on themes such as the relationships we build with places, cartography and migration, mainly through media such as drawing and installation. For FATpermanent, she is initiating a regular meeting place for female artists with a migration background starting in October 2023. The aim is to share experiences, promote networking and facilitate the search for solutions to common problems. At the FATrdv at the end of September, in an exchange with Eleonora Stassi, she talks about her own experiences and outlines the need for such an undertaking. She presents her ideas around the migration meeting place and takes up the needs of the community.
Eleonora Stassi (*1989) is a freelance curator living in Zurich. Her work and research focuses on identity issues, feminism, digital nomadism and postmigration. She developed her MAS project under the title "Curating (Post) Migration". In her practice, she has worked for intercultural associations and festivals in Zurich, such as ExpoTranskultur and About Us! She is the initiator of the OTO SOUND MUSEUM, the ZAIRA ORAM collective, the MigrationsMuseum Zurich and the project The Feminist Capital with Collettiva Curators (www.collettiva.ch). She is co-editor of the OnCurating issue "Work, Migration, Memes, Personal Geopolitics", which was published and presented together with a panel as a side event of Manifesta 11.
