Our Voices. In the Footsteps of Female Visual Artists.
75 Years of the German Artists' Association 24 May to 14 September 2025
As part of the closing event of the exhibition "Our Voices. In the Footsteps of Female Visual Artists" at the Wilhelm Hack Museum, the FEMINIST VOICES symposium will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The symposium aims to promote networking among female artists, cultural workers, and Wikipedians in the attic space. With a focus on art and culture, and taking into account the underrepresentation of women in society, media, and culture, the topic of equality will be explored in greater depth. The exhibition "Our Voices: On the Trail of Female Visual Artists" at the Wilhelm Hack Museum traces female artists who were part of the German Artists' Association. In this context, experts will network on the visibility of women and their achievements, contributing to establishing the Edit-a-thon as a transdisciplinary and intersectional tool.
Curator Dr. Almut Hüfler will lead a conversation with two exhibiting artists on the topic of the body. The event will feature "FATart Fair," the first Swiss art fair for women | FLINTA, and Galerie Glaab, a Swiss gallery that exclusively deals with art by women. The program will be complemented by insights into the media research of the EqualVoice initiative and the FEMNETZ network, an edit-a-thon movement that promotes equality in art, culture, and the public sphere through collaborative knowledge transfer.
The symposium is organized by FATart in cooperation with the German Artists' Association and the Wilhelm Hack Museum in Ludwigshafen am Rhein...
